Life... as we know it: Polar Express

The Polar Express

Friday afternoon, Suri, Grammy, Lindsay, Jackson and I made our way up the snowy highway to Flagstaff AZ. Friday night we were going to Williams to board the Polar Express to go to the North Pole, 5 days before Christmas! Suri has been counting down the days until she gets to see where Santa Claus lives and where her Elf flys to every night. We actually lucked out on the way up as weather was supposed to be quite snowy but instead, there was snow on the ground but the roads were pretty much clear. It was perfect weather for our first trip to the North Pole.
We dropped Lindsay and Jackson off at a friends house in Flagstaff and Grammy, Suri and I made our way to our Hotel in Williams, Arizona. It was there we changed into our jammies and then made our way to the Polar Express. Nothing like traveling with an 86 year old and a 3 year old in ice and snow... while wearing pajamas!!! Made for quite the scene I know :-) Luckily we survived without any one slipping on the ice.
When we arrived at the Polar Express, we met up with some of our friends. Madeleine and Alexis and their mommies came too. Suri was happy to see her friends and share in a fun experience :)

Suri was pretty mellow on the train ride to the North Pole and once we arrived, she was a bit apprehensive about looking out the window to see Santa and his Elf at his home, the North Pole. She eventually made her way to the window and peered out in awe. She was happy she finally had the courage to look out the window and she was even more excited to see Santa in person when he arrived on our train! Santa made his way through the train and handed each child a jingle bell. Suri's eyes were full of wonder as she conversed briefly with Santa as he handed her her jingle bell. She was happy we made the trip to the Polar Express and she had even more fun playing in the snow the next morning before we headed back home to Phoenix. She keeps saying she wants to go back to Flagstaff so she can play in the snow. Another trip up the hill may be in our near future :)
