Grandma was discharged from the hospital this afternoon after receiving the run around multiple times regarding what the nickel size spot was that showed up on CT scan. We were told "yes it is an aneurysm" " no it isn't and aneurysm" " it's a tumor" "no, it's not a tumor" . . . the final consensus was that it was some sort of asymmetry revealed in her CTA scan and that it was nothing to worry about? Really?? Well, regardless of "what" the nickel size spot is, staying in the hospital where she was at was not an option as everyone was quite fed up with the communication, or lack there of. Grandma was discharged to home this afternoon with films in hand. I am sure we will follow up at Mayo Clinic for a second opinion just for peace of mind. Don't get me wrong, we are all ecstatic that final consensus was that there was nothing serious to worry about however we are still uncertain as to what exactly the nickel size spot was that initiated her admission in the first place... hmmm
Anyway, Grammy is home tonight and really starting to feel the pain from her fall. Her bruising has spread and I am sure her aches will increase before they begin to get better.
